5 key commands for fl studios

Updated: Aug 28, 2021

If you want stay creative and become faster when producing, it is crucial to invest time into knowing key commands.

In this post, I've highlighted 5 Key Commands that I use all the time when I'm producing in FL Studio. If you produce with FL Studio, these commands will definitely bump up your game if you don't already know them. For further detail, you can watch the video below. It covers all 5 key commands and gives examples of how they are used.

List of Commands:

1.) Shift + Left Click

This command allows you to rename and lock your playlist tracks, mixer tracks and channels.

*Side Tip* If you click on the symbol next to a track or channel, this command will also allow you to change it's symbol.

2.) Command/Ctrl + Left-Click

My favorite on the list. It simply switches from your pen or brush tool to the select tool in the playlist or the piano roll. I use this tool all the time.

3.) Alt/Opt + Left-Click

When enabled, this command temporarily switches any grid snapping off on the piano roll or the playlist.

4.) Command/Ctrl + N

This one is an important feature because it's a total life saver! When you press this combination it creates a back up of your project.

5.) Command/Ctrl + L

Routes an unused channel to a mixer track. It also automatically renames the mixer track to the same name as your channel.

If you have any suggestions, questions or comments, please leave them below and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!
